There are many paintings of the major, but this one is unique. From the front, the portrait may look like any other. The back, however, is what makes this one special: on the back, we can find two texts, hand-written by the major.
Recently, the painting was rediscovered while cleaning up before moving away from one of our locations in Amsterdam. How it got there, however, is a great mystery.
From today on, the painting can be seen in the Major Bosshardt house. It has been hung on a hinge, which means both sides can be seen!
We have traced and contacted the painter’s daughter via social media, and on April 8, 2024, she visited the Major Bosshardt house and viewed her father’s painting.
Are you coming to the Major Bosshardt house soon to look at this remarkable painting?
